“La Eme” which means “The M” stands for the Mexican Mafia, one of the largest and most ruthless gangs in US prisons. They are allied with the Aryan brotherhood only because they have a shared enemy, the Nuestra Familia. La Eme has thousands of members in prison as well as members outside prison. This gang was actually not started in Mexico as you might think, but by mexican-americans incarcerated in american prisons.
